Kumite · Shotokan · 4th Kyu
Born to compete. Built to win.
Armenian Cup Champion. International medalist.
Age six — and just getting started.
Maria Varzhapetyan began her karate journey at the age of four. Two years later, she is a national champion and international medalist — not by exception, but by merit.
Competing in Olympic Shotokan Karate under the Armenian National Karate Federation(ANKF), Maria has advanced from 8th Kyu to 4th Kyu in under 24 months — a rate of progression that distinguishes her from her peers by any standard.
In 2025, she claimed the Armenian Cup Championship and followed it with a gold medal at the International Tournament in Tbilisi, Georgia — competing against older, more experienced athletes with composed and decisive technique.
Off the mat, Maria is a first-grade student at an English-focused school, recognized for academic discipline and high performance. She trains daily — formal sessions supplemented by independent practice at home.
She is not a prodigy to be observed. She is a competitor to be watched.
"Every belt is just permission to work harder."
